According to Political Compass, I lean left on Economic policies (-2.63) and I am more Libertarian than Authoritarian (-3.44). I believe that the government needs to require wealthier citizens to pay more in taxes because they need to be able to help those who are not as fortunate as them and use their wealth to contribute to our nation.
One value that I think is the most important to me is the right to vote. I think that many people in america take voting for granted but there are many countries in the world who cant vote and/or live under a dictatorship. This is why I believe that any american citizen above 18 should be able to vote. This includes convicts and especially people living in U.S territories because they are still citizens and they still deserve, if they want to, to contribute to our democracy. Another right that I believe is crucial for every american is the right to marry legally. in a free country, it is a shame that people are still being restricted on what they can do with their lives and who they can love. I believe that love is love and that's why everyone should be allowed to marry who they want in any state they want. Finally, I believe that everyone has the right to worship whoever they want. Similar to the right to marry, I think that America is hypocritical of calling itself a "free country" until they allow people to do what they believe in and what makes them happy or at peace.
I think we have very similar views, and we have a similar point on the political compass. I like your views on voting and democratic participation.
